Rita Ann Paulissen

Rita Ann Paulissen, 87, of Fayetteville died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Vincennes, Ind., the daughter of Bernard Yunker and Ethel Johnston Yunker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville and was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Paulissen and a sister, Barbara Yunker. She worked in research at Washington University in St. Louis, was a volunteer with Docent at the University Museum, enjoyed crocheting and was a avid reader. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanine Tavanlar and her husband, Eric of Lowell; sons, Alan Paulissen of Fayetteville, Mark Paulissen and his wife, Tabatha Hibbs of Tahlequah, Okla., Jerome Paulissen and his wife Vicki of Dexter, Mich., cousin, Mary Beth Foarde of Oakton, Va., and three grandchildren, Rebekah Tavanlar, Andrew and Spencer Paulissen. A rosary will be Tuesday, 6 p.m. at Moores Chapel. Mass with Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
