William "Bill" Albert Thomason, 87, of Gravette, Ark., died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Ark. He was born on Nov. 15, 1927 in Maysville, Ark., to Barney Newton Thomason and Susie Minerva Wardlaw Thomason. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war and was an Artilleryman in Battery C, 99th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. He thoroughly researched and studied family genealogy; and along with Frances, visited Scotland, the birthplace of the Thomason family. They traveled the world together, visiting England, Ireland, Wales, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Holland, Finland, Hungary, Belarus, Russia, China, and Alaska. He was a master gardener, able to grow any tree, shrub, flower, or vegetable imaginable. He had a passion for fishing, and especially liked trout fishing in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Thomason of Gravette, Ark.; two sons, Alan Thomason and wife Monica and Larry Thomason and wife, Tanya of the Maysville Area; and five grandchildren, Shelby, Will, Nathan, Lia, and Noah. A Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, Ark. Burial will be at the Family Cemetery in Brightwater, Ark. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
