Stella S. Starnes, 76, of Hindsville, Ark., died Dec. 11, 2014, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born Jan. 12, 1938, at Whitener, Ark., the daughter of Paul and Eva Roberts Flanagan. She married Bill R. Starnes on Aug. 6, 1955, and they had three children. She was a homemaker and co-owner of S & S Grocery, Feed and Fertilizer in Hindsville for 18 years. She was active in the Whitener Home Extension Club, where she was a charter member. She was a quilter and seamstress and enjoyed painting. She was also a longtime member of the Hindsville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Eva Flanagan, her son, Jon Starnes and her grandson, Samuel Starnes. She is survived by her husband, Bill R. Starnes of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Janet and Ed Coffman of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Kathey and George Rhoads of Hindsville, Ark.; two brothers and their wives, Tommy and Ann Flanagan of Pensacola, Fla., and Bob and Dorothy Flanagan of Fayetteville, Ark.; a sister and her husband, Paula and Truman Skaggs of Sonora, Ark.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15 in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville, Ark., with The Reverend Max Bowlin officiating. Interment will be in the Buckeye Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be: George Rhoades, Ed Coffman, Eric Gifford, Josh Starnes, Joe Cornelison and Matt Webster. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
