Louis Elmer Wellinghoff, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Dec. 11, 2014, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born on April 19, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo. He attended Catholic grade and high schools in St. Louis, Mo. In 1958, Louis was drafted into the Army and served in Germany. He was released and then reactivated for the Cuban Crisis. Louis was devoted to his wife, Clarice, and in June 2014 they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed the last 20 years as retirees in Bella Vista, Ark., by traveling with friends and family, golfing and playing cards. Lou was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, along with being a member of the St. Bernard Golf League and the Bella Vista Men's Golf Association. His ready smile and quick wit was shared with all. Louis had a 33-year career in financial services with Wells Fargo. He focused on developing people to be their best on the job and in life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Gertrude Wellinghoff. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Clarice; and their loving children, Daniel Wellinghoff (Suzy), Nancy Sandor (Jim), Mary Riffel, Julie Osbahr (Dave) and Charles Wellinghoff (Kasey); brothers, James Wellinghoff, Jerry (Ann) Wellinghoff; and sister, Elaine Rodery. He treasured his five grandchildren, Madison, AJ, Robbie, Zach and Alexandra. A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista, Ark., with a visitation starting at 9 a.m. followed by a rosary at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark., or St. Bernard Catholic Church.
