Ruby Marie James McCoy

Ruby Marie James McCoy, 102, of West Fork went to be with the good Lord surrounded by family on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born Nov. 23, 1912, in Booneville, Ark., to Tom and Leona Mae Fitzgerald James. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Theron McCoy; her parents; brothers, Arvil and Theodore James; sister, Agnes Inez Barton; daughter, Ruby Faye Rogers; son, Edgar Lee McCoy; and infant, Linda Marie McCoy who died at birth. She loved to garden and quilt. She is survived by a daughter, Clara Smithson and husband, Billy, of Winslow; daughter, Pat Cody and husband, Robert, of West Fork; and daughter, Dorothy McCoy of Nevada, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at the Baptist Ford Church in Greenland, with Pastor Eric Howerton officiating. Interment will follow in Baptist Ford Cemetery, under the direction of Beard's Chapel. There is no scheduled visitation.
