James Ronald Carter

James Ronald Carter, 71, of Fayetteville died Dec. 8, 2014. He was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Huntsville, Ark., to Raymond and Mary Florence Carter. He retired from the athletic department of the University of Arkansas. He enjoyed gardening, fixing things and helping the homeless. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Bunny" Carter. He is survived by two sons, Ronald Carter of Fayetteville and Thomas Carter of Hogeye; daughter, Linda Heshelman of Elnora, Ind.; brother, Jerry of Missouri; sisters, Joyce and Sharon of California, Carolyn of Arizona, Wanda of Florida and Dorothy of Springdale; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Beard's Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Venus Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
