Ronald E. King

Ronald E. King, 79, passed away on Dec. 8, 2014. He was born to John and Margaret King in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Aug. 8, 1935. He was the second of two sons. He attended school in the North Pittsburgh area until he graduated from high school. He then attended Penn State University and graduated with bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant administration with a minor in accounting. He married Carolyn Harmelink on June 17, 1958. He worked in the food industry in the Washington, D.C., area, Indianapolis and Menlo Park, Calif., until 1976. Ron then ventured into the accounting area and worked as supervisor in Husky Oil's main headquarter in Cody, Wyo. When Husky Oil was sold, he was hired in the same capacity for Giant Oil in Scottsdale, Ariz. He retired in 1997. He loved to ski, camp and fish, and he and his wife moved to Pipestone, Minn., where he pursued his love of fishing. He was also nearer to his sons. When they were all transferred and moved to other places, he and Carolyn moved to Bella Vista where his oldest son and daughter-in-law lived just a few suburbs away. Actively supporting the church, he served as both a deacon and elder in the places they lived. He was active in other nonprofitable organizations throughout his life. His love for his family was always his top priority. He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn of 56 years; and his sons, Mark of Springdale, Ark., David of Tampa, Fla., and Douglas of Elk, Wash.; and his daughters-in-law, Rosseal, Gretchen and Rene'. His grandchildren include, Danielle, Garrett, Marie, Dylan and Tallis. He also has two step-grandchildren, Lindsey and Noah. His other relatives include his brother, John King of Connellsville, Pa.; and numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews. People often commented on his good manners, such as his courteous ways and gentleman-type style. These traits were noted by his family, friends and co-workers in the business field. His departure from this earth will leave a giant void in the hearts of all who knew him.
