Maynard Hirsch, 97, of Rogers passed away Dec. 5, 2014, in Rogers. He was born June 28, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Herman and May Julia Larson Hirsch. Maynard was known as "Mr. Elk." He was an active member with the Elks for 53 years in Rogers and Arlington Heights, Ill. He and Sally Ann Brown were the founders of the Arkansas Fly Fishing Club. He was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Boat Club and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Maynard was also an excellent ballroom dancer and he liked to fish. He was preceded in death by Elaine Hirsch, his wife of 64 years. Memorial services will take place on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Rogers-Bentonville Elks Lodge #2144.
