Nancy Lee Jewell

Nancy L. Jewell Feb. 8, 1940 - Dec. 1, 2014 Nancy Lee Jewell, 74, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away on Dec. 1, 2014, surrounded by her children. She was born on Feb. 8, 1940, in Alton, Ill., to Elmer and Mary (Ruth) Pelot. Following graduation from Alton High School in Illinois, Nancy married Larry West in December 1958. Together they raised a family of seven children which was her everlasting pride and joy. In 2005, Nancy remarried James (Dick) Jewell and relocated to Bella Vista, Ark., in 2009. Nancy was a member of Zeta Beta Psi sorority, the Junior Service League and the mayor's committee for development of Gordon Moore Park in Alton, Ill. She was also a competitive tennis player, and coordinator for numerous teams in New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas. Nancy enjoyed playing the piano, was an avid bridge player and cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Justice. She professed her faith at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, Ark. Nancy is survived by her children and their spouses, Richard and Diane West, Lawton, Okla., Susan West, Escondido, Calif., Timothy West, Providence Village, Texas, Christopher and Kathryn West, Alton, Ill., Mary and Edward Wick, Florissant, Mo., Roger West, Alton, Ill., and Neil West of Lawton, Okla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Neil Pelot, Escondido, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dick. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2014, at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
