Betty Joyce Short

Betty Joyce Short, 71-year-old resident of Gentry, Ark., died at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital on Dec. 6, 2014. Born Aug. 13, 1943, in Wanilla, Miss., she was the daughter of Ervie Nations and Netta Reid Nations. Betty was a homemaker in Monticello, Miss., where she was a longtime resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Short; one daughter, Lori Baughman; five brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her son, J.J. Short and wife, Todd, of Bentonville, Ark.; four grandchildren, Amber Baughman of Gentry, Blake and Brittany Baughman of Monticello, Miss., and Trace Short of Bentonville; two brothers, Dewitt Nations of Monticello, and Donald Nations and wife, Sandra, of Gentry; and two special nephews, Lance Nations and wife, Stacy, of Gentry, and Shannon Nations and wife, Melissa, of Siloam Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Wilson Funeral Home, Monticello, Miss. Burial will follow at Wanilla Baptist Church Cemetery, Wanilla, Miss.
