Eugene "Gene" Inman

Eugene "Gene" Inman, 97, of Fort Smith died Dec. 4, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born in Mt. Grove, Mo. on Feb. 27, 1917. He was the son of Ralph Inman and Sarah Ellen Tankersley Inman. Gene was a veteran of WWII and was a retired member and technician of the 188th Fighter Wing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and his wife of 65 years, Helen Wise Inman. He is survived by a son, Donald Inman and wife, Julie of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Mary Beth Johnson and husband, Roger of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial with Military Honors will be at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 from 3–5 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
