Robert Ray Neely

Robert Ray Neely was born Feb. 15, 1927, the youngest of five children born to Henry Rufus and Ursa Pearl Hatfield Neely. He went to be with the Lord at his home Nov. 28, 2014. Robert served in the United States Army. He was a school teacher, first in a one-room school teaching grades 1-8. He also taught fifth grade at Northside Elementary. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. Preceded in death by his parents; one brother Henry Neely and three sisters Pearl Garrison, Nettie Neely and Ita Stilwell; three nephews Roy and Clifford Neely and Wilford Garrison who passed away Nov. 24, 2014. Survived by two nieces Martha Brooks and husband Rhad of Mustang, Oklahoma and Donna Robinson of Garfield; a foster son Craig Casteel of the home and many wonderful friends. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Rogers Freewill Baptist Church, 900 S. Dixieland Road, Rogers, AR 72758 where memorial contributions may be made in his memory. Funeral services 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at the Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers with Bro. Eddie Davis and Bro. Randy Burris officiating.
