George N. Swessel, 83, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center of Bentonville. He was born on Nov. 26, 1930, in South Milwaukee, Wis., to Tony Swessel and Isabelle Grutza Swessel. He served in the United States Air Force. He was an alderman in South Milwaukee, Wis. He moved to Bella Vista 23 years ago. He was employed by the Bella Vista POA Golf Course for 15 years. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Louise; daughter, Laurie; four brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Swessel of Bella Vista, Ark.; son, Peter Swessel of Whitewater, Wis.; two daughters, Mary Louise Frenzl of Whitewater, Wis., Lynn Wilding of Oak Creek, Wis.; stepchildren, Jill Pire (Gary), Scott Scheife (Susan), Kurt Scheife (Pamela), Karl Scheife (Claudine), all of Wisconsin; three sisters; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark.
