James Lee Munyon, beloved husband and father, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Aug. 25, 2014. He was born on April 4, 1938, in South Gate, Calif., the son of Clarence LeRoy and Veta Ruth Biggerstaff Munyon. He leaves behind a legacy of military service, sea stories and sound advice to his best friend and wife, Carmel Lee of the home; two daughters, Dianna Payne and husband, Billy Wayne, of Lincoln, their children, Jimmy, and his family, Holly and James of Siloam Springs, Leandra Kapity and her husband, Russell, currently stationed in Japan, their daughters, Isadara and Eisley, Robin Reed of Lincoln and her fiancee, Rick Grigg, and her children, Melissa and her husband, Dayna Brooks, of Lincoln, their sons, Logan and Blake, Jennifer Remington and her husband, Bud, of Morrow and their children, Rylee, Hannah and Lauren, and son, Josh Reed of Rogers. He leaves behind two brothers, John Munyon and wife, Linda, of Morrow, their sons, Michael and wife, Donna, with son, Austin, of Lincoln, and Jared and wife, Anita, of Morrow, and Bob Munyon and companion, Judy, of Evansville, his daughter, Joey Cox and husband, Kevin, and their children, Brandy, Abby and Brett, all of Evansville; three sisters-in-law, Ethel Abshire and family, Norma Strait and family of Carthage, Mo., and JoAnn Welsh of Lincoln; two brothers-in-law, Bud Phillips of Evansville and family, and Gerald Phillips of Morrow and family; as well as a host of friends, church family, neighbors and fellow military retirees. Dad led an amazing life. While in the Navy for 20 years, he and his family traveled and had many adventures. After retiring he moved his family to a farm near Morrow. He currently attended the Lincoln Methodist Church where he was involved in many and various projects of volunteering. Dad loved learning, enjoyed family history, music but especially telling stories. "Why ruin a good story with the truth?" was one of his favorite sayings. He has been dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers or food, memorials may be made to the Jim Munyon Scholarship Fund, 211 Sunny Vale Place, Lincoln, AR 72744.
