Glen Ledford (Arvil Glendon Ledford), 73, of Fayetteville passed away August 22, 2014 at Shiloh Nursing and Rehab in Springdale. He was born March 11, 1941, the son of Arvil Jackson Ledford and Doris Iva Lacy Ledford of Elkins. Glen, or maybe best known by "Bowdy," was a chicken and cattle farmer. He was an avid team-roper, passionate Razorback basketball fan, loved to watch boxing, play pitch, but, most of all, he loved his grandchildren! He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ernestine Buchanan Ledford; daughter, Shelly Davis and husband Scott of Fayetteville; son, Denny Ledford and wife Sheila of Bentonville; grandson, Tyler Ledford of Rogers; granddaughter, Lindsay Booher of Rogers; granddaughter, Cassie Howard of Bentonville; grandson, Drake Davis of Fayetteville; great-grandson, Ezra Parks; great-grandson Jacob Ledford; and one sister, Frieda Maish of Rogers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Beard's Chapel with Minister Bobby Dockery officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Chapel. The family would like to express their thanks to the awesome caregivers from Shiloh Nursing and Rehab and Circle of Life Hospice for the wonderful compassionate care he received during his long battle with Alzheimer's.
