Eleanor Moffat, 82, went to be with her Lord Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. Eleanor was born Sept. 23, 1931, to Irma M., and Adelbert D. Henning in Ripley, N.Y. She attended the Ripley Central School System, graduating in 1951. Eleanor and Clyde W. Moffat were wed in Biloxi, Miss., July 14, 1951, where he was assigned with the Air Force while attending radar school. Later in 1951 she followed her husband to Burtonwood Air Force Base in the UK, crossing the Atlantic on the Queen Mary. While stationed in England they were blessed with their first two children. They returned to Ripley in 1954, where she was a homemaker, adding one more child in 1957. The family moved to Arkansas in 1964 when Clyde was transferred by Welch's Foods to work as plant accountant in Springdale. She continued the challenges of running the household until she and her husband started their own business, Seaside Pools, in 1967. She continued to work in the business until retiring in 2008. Eleanor enjoyed traveling, taking a variety of cruises, road trips across the country, and numerous trips to Hawaii. Many of these were taken with the whole of her expanding family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her many pets over the years. But most importantly, she was inseparable from her husband of 63 years, Clyde. Her mother and father, Irma and Adelbert Henning; three brothers, Donald Henning, Fred Henning, and infant Ross Henning preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, Clyde W. Moffat of the home, and one son and daughter-in-law, Paul Duane and Kimberly Renee Moffat of Springdale; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Ann and Ron Hodge of Springdale, and Susan Lee and Charles Fadjo Cravens of Tulsa. Seven grandchildren, Cory Paul Moffat and wife Katie Marie, Kimberly Rose Moffat, Margaret McRae Cravens, Eleanor Cravens Thompson and her husband Alexander, Susan Kathleen Cravens, Charles Fadjo Cravens, Jr., and Mattix Emerson Cravens. Two great-grandchildren: Kamden Rose Marie Moffat and Clyde Alexander Thompson. The family wants to acknowledge her caregivers in her final days, Angelite Sandebothe, Cleora Carmichael, and Washington Regional Hospice. Services will be held at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday with funeral at 11 a.m. and burial directly to follow at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Washington Regional Hospice.
