Bobby Gene Baker, aged 74, passed away Aug. 9, 2014, in Fayetteville, Ark. Bobby was born June 1, 1940, in Brashears, Ark. He moved to Combs in 1994, where he and his wife resided. He owned Baker Carpet Service and installed flooring for 48 years. Bobby was a member of Crosses Community Church and was an usher and served on the Board of Trustees. He loved fishing, hunting, and his two dogs. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Melton Baker; two sons, Curtis Baker of Springdale and Todd Baker and wife Nancy of Fayetteville; daughter, Tandy Johnson of Fayetteville; two stepdaughters, Sheila Ketzler and husband Jason of Prairie Grove and Kelly Fox of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Megan Blakemore, Gregory Dolby, Cory and Kylah Ketzler, Cassie and Jarod Fox; great-grandchildren, Brylen Kauffeld, Hayley Blakemore, and Daxton Ketzler; sister, Annis Baggett and husband Bill of Lowell; and many close relatives and friends and loving church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Baker and Mary Katherine Carroll Baker and grandson Trey Wright. Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Crosses Community Church at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at Beard's Funeral Chapel, Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. A dinner will be held at noon at Crosses Community Church on Aug. 12, 2014, prior to service. Pallbearers will be Shannon Bowen, Mike Carroll, Larry Carroll, Dennis Donahue, Zane Carroll, Mitch Carroll, Wayne Young and Kenneth Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Glenn, Jack Bottoms, John Snell, Marshall Mahan, Rex Hamilton, Jerry Baker, Ronnie Baker, Chuck Stout, Gene Kimball, J.B. Hardin, Carl Barough, Cory Scates, Todd Hall, Bill Baggett, Ronnie Shackelford, Moe Shepherd and Ron Shackelford. Cremation arrangements by Beard's Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
