Otis James Montgomery

Otis James Montgomery, age 93, of Rogers passed away Aug. 5, 2014. Otis was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Pershing, Okla., to parents Ernest Montgomery and Myrtle Burns Montgomery. As a young boy, Otis and his family moved to Madison County, Ark., settling in the Alabam Community. He was united in marriage to Lucille Snyder on Oct. 23, 1946, in Bentonville, Ark. Otis was retired from the Rogers Public Schools, where he spent over 20 years in maintenance and cabinet making. He was a strong Christian, keeping the faith for over 80 years. Otis enjoyed his family and was a talented woodworker. Otis was preceded in death by his parents; as well as one sister, Helen Lucille Montgomery. He is survived by his wife of over 67 years, Lucille of the home; sons, Earnie Montgomery and wife, Dona, of Fayetteville, and Dave Montgomery and wife, Janice, of Rogers; daughter, Sarah McBryde and husband, Gary, of Tulsa; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers, Ark., with interment to follow also at Benton County Memorial Park.
