James Delbert "Del" Gibson, 71, of West Fork died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 16, 1942, in Fayetteville to James McFarland and Katherine Fannie Tisdale Gibson. Del graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1960. He and Juanita Prater were married July 1, 1961, and just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Del worked for Ozarks Electric for 38 years, retiring in 2000. He was a former member of the Fayetteville Jaycees, served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, a devoted husband and a loving father. His family meant everything to him. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond James Gibson; sister, Katherine Louella Gibson Hinkle. Del is survived by his wife, Juanita Gibson of the home; daughters, Pam Stockland and husband, Tom, and Kim Wray and husband, Scott, grandsons, Bart and Brett Stockland, granddaughters, Megan and Sarah Kate Wray, all of Fayetteville; brothers, Larry Gibson of Rogers and Carrel Powell of Prescott, Ariz.; sisters, Laverne Schaeffer of Lockney, Texas, and Peggy Solomon of Maumelle, Ark..; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:30-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Beard's Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, with Pastor Harris Sonnenberg officiating. A reception will follow at the church. A private burial will follow for family at Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Beard's Chapel. Pallbearers will be Bart Stockland, Brett Stockland, Jim Stockland, Kit Stocker, Victor Lee, Ken Young and Chad Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Stockland, Buddy Wray and Sam Anderson.
