Amelia Eldridge

Amelia Skinner Eldridge, age 62, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday April 16, 2014. She was born July 24, 1951, in Prescott, Ark., the daughter of Billy Clark and Ollie Fae Ward Skinner. She was preceded in death by her father; and her brother, Billy Skinner. Amelia, a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1969. She graduated with two degrees from the University of Central Arkansas, a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1973 and a Master of Science in Education in 1974. In 1972 she was crowned Miss State College of Arkansas. Amelia was a member of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority during her collegiate years. She served on the UCA alumni board for many years. After college, Amelia taught in the public school system for seven years. For three years she was a realtor with Fred Dacus Associates in Jonesboro. She was a top producing realtor for 31 years with Lindsey & Associates. Amelia was a Senior Vice President, Executive Broker at Lindsey & Associates. She resided in Fayetteville, Ark., and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. She is survived by her husband, John R. Eldridge III.; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Eldridge McNair and her husband Hight of Fayetteville, Ark.; stepson, J. R. Eldridge IV and his wife Audrey of Arkadelphia, Ark.; her mother, Ollie Fae Skinner of North Little Rock; her sister, Shelley Ussery and her husband Kevin of North Little Rock; a niece, Ashlyn Ussery; nephew, Brandon Ussery; and five grandchildren, Jack Eldridge, Max Eldridge, Tripp Eldridge due April 28, Emmie McNair and Bayley McNair. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O.
