Robert T. Patrick

Robert T. Patrick, fortified by the Sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church and surrounded by his children, passed into the eternal joy of Heaven on April 11, 2014. He was 82. He was born in Ozark on Oct. 27, 1931, and was raised in Fayetteville. He graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy in Little Rock and served in the Army National Guard. He was stationed at Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith, Fort Hood, Texas, and Karlsrhue, Germany. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he returned to Fayetteville to begin his career in pharmacy, initially at Palace Drug then as the owner-operator of Medical Arts Pharmacy, established in 1959, until retirement in 1999. Bob was quietly charitable and civic-minded. His kindness, patience and good humor endeared him to family, friends and customers. His wise counsel was invaluable to all who sought it out. He enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, was fond of fishing and boating, and was a fan of the Razorbacks, the Purple Dogs and the St. Louis Cardinals. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ophia Ann (Pat) Dunn Patrick McGaugh; his stepfather, Carl Andrew McGaugh Sr.; sister, Mona Cowan; brother, Carl Andrew McGaugh Jr.; and four children lost in miscarriage. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Agnes Birkenbach Worm Patrick; four children, Jon Patrick of Farmington, Jodi Reeves (Bob) of Little Rock, Mike Patrick (Carol) of Little Rock and Rob Patrick (Jan) of Bryant; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Becca, Ben, Elizabeth, Haley, Kate, Mary and Rachel; and several nieces and nephews. Rosary will be held at St. Joseph on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville on Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Diocese of Little Rock, Seminarian Fund, in memory of Robert T. Patrick, 2500 N. Tyler St., Little Rock, AR 72207; or the St. Joseph Catholic Church building fund, 1722 N. Starr Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
