Florence Jenkins, 95, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away on April 15, 2014, at the Fayetteville Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Greenwood, Ark., on Nov. 30, 1918, to Virgil and Savanah Honea. She and her husband, Charlie, lived in Phillips, Texas, for 43 years before moving back to Arkansas and buying a home on Beaver Lake. Florence loved to be around her family and friends. She was a member of the Hickory Creek Baptist Church. She worked for several years as a greeter for Walmart and enjoyed her job. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Charlie Jenkins; and a niece, Marilyn Medrick. Florence is survived by a daughter, Shirley May and her husband, Dean, a son, Tom Jenkins and his wife, Suzanna, all of Fayetteville, Ark.; a granddaughter, Denise May and Curtis of Dhaka, Bangladesh; a grandson, Steve Jenkins and Leah of St. Louis, Mo.; and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Jenkins of St. Louis, Mo. A private service will be held at a later date. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Fayetteville Health and Rehab Center for their care of Florence during her stay there.
