Bernita Irene Woolley

Bernita Irene Woolley, 90, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed from this life Saturday, March 29, 2014. Celebration of Life memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, Bella Vista, where she was a charter member. Born April 6, 1923, in Mount Cory, Ohio, Bernita was the only child of Austin and Ethel Holmes. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Mount Cory High School. On Dec. 21, 1944, she married her childhood sweetheart, Jimmie V. Woolley; they enjoyed 60 years of marriage until Jim passed away in 2005. They made their first home in Northwest Ohio until moving to Illinois where they stayed until retirement. Bella Vista became their retirement home. Bernita was a deacon of the church, active in circle and shepherd groups and a community volunteer, most recently at the Bella Vista Library. She enjoyed all Bella Vista had to offer, especially golf, fishing and the opportunity to play bridge every day of the week. Immediate survivors are her son, Gary Woolley and his wife, Carol, of Mexico Beach, Fla.; and daughter, Linda Hueser and husband, David, of Madrid, Iowa. She has two grandsons and two great-grandsons: grandson, Jesse Hueser and Nichole Hueser, and their son, Jaymes, of Madrid, Iowa, and Eric Hueser and Myessa Nagi, and their son, Hudson, of Urbandale, Iowa. Bernita is also survived by her sister-in-law, Suzanne Moore; and three nieces.
