Quinton J. Hanssens, VMD, 64, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Circle of Life Legacy Village Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born April 30, 1949, in Reading, Pa., to Julian and Julianna LeVan Hanssens. He was a poultry veterinarian and supplied technical support to the Poultry Industry. Quinton had a love for life. He had an even greater love for his family and friends. He enjoyed working in the yard, taking care of his pool, and seeing to the needs of his pets and guests. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Avian Pathologists. He is preceded in death by his parents. Quinton is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda; two daughters, Julianna Barnett and husband, Daniel, of Little Rock, Ark., and Susan Coughlin and husband, Tommy, of Bentonville, Ark.; and two grandsons, Thomas Martin Coughlin V and Bradley Shaw Barnett. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Oakley Chapel in Rogers, with Jim Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the U of A Center of Excellence for Poultry Science, 1260 W. Maple, Fayetteville, AR 72701; Benton County Humane Society, 407 E. Nursery Road, Rogers, AR 72756; or Circle of Life Legacy Village Hospice, 1201 N.E. Legacy Pkwy., Bentonville, AR 72712.
