Bobby Joe Chandler

Bobby Joe Chandler died Sept. 27, 2013, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was born on Feb. 1, 1937, in Heber Springs, Ark., to the late Dewey Chandler and Flora Lackey Chandler. He graduated high school in Concord, Ark., and attended college in Conway, Ark. He moved to Michigan at an early age, and was employed by Ford and General Motors Company as an engineer. He met and married the love of his life during his time spent in Michigan and then returned to Arkansas in 1962. It was in Arkansas where he spent his remaining years raising his family and developing his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. He moved to Springdale, Ark., where he enjoyed decades of success with his many business accomplishments while founding and developing Chandler Equipment. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying his plane, and was a great collector of antiques for many years. He retired in 2007 and later opened an antique store in Tontitown, Ark., in 2012. He was a member of Elm Springs Methodist Church. He will be truly missed by his wife of 56 years, Juanita F. Chandler; his stepsister, Shirley Simpson of Batesville, Ark.; his daughter, Jennifer Mick and husband, Bryon, of Springdale; his son, Jeffrey Chandler and wife, Lisa, of Springdale; his daughter, Brigitte Farris and husband, Tracy, of Springdale; grandchildren, Courtney Malott and husband, Justin, Joseph Farris and wife, Laura Jade, Chris Chandler and wife, Morgan, Kerrigan and Kaitlyn Reading, Addison, Sydney and Madison Mick; and three great granddaughters. The family wishes to give special thanks to all of the wonderful people serving at the Circle of Life that made such a gracious impact on the last days of his life. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home, officiated by Chaplain and friend Audie Long. Interment will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens.
