Richard M. Mayes Jr.

Richard M. Mayes Jr., 64, of West Fork passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Feb. 20, 1949, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to Richard and Evelyn Delores Mayes. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of five years, Joyce Mayes; daughter, Meredith Brunen and husband, Kyle, of Centerton; son, Andrew Mayes of Fayetteville; sister, Rebecca Silvis and husband, Lonnie, of Fayetteville; brother, Chuck Mayes and wife, Tracie, of Fayetteville; stepchildren, Kira Hungate and husband, Clay, of West Fork, and Micah Chambers and wife, Jenna, of Alma; stepgrandchildren, Katie, Colton, Jessman and Cash; and expecting his first grandson, Jude Harrison Brunen in November; and several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Lowell E. Grisham and the Rev. Suzanne Stoner officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel.
