Franklin Delano Eckert

Franklin Delano Eckert, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed peacefully on Sept. 12, 2013, of natural causes. He was born March 8, 1933, in St. Paul, Minn. He attended the Mechanic Arts High School, and served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy before settling in Dallas and receiving his B.A. in accounting from SMU. He is preceded in glory by his parents, Andrew and Inga Eckert; and his brothers, Robert, James, Edward, Harvey, Sidney, John, and Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Mable Eckert; son, Scott A. Eckert; daughter, Sherri Lynn Hill; grandsons, Jordan and Brody Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. Loving husband, father, and friend – none could ask more. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 at United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, Ark. It will be preceded by military honors at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to United Lutheran Church.
