Charles Bryant Olds

Charles Bryant Olds, 92, died Sept. 9, 2013, at his home in Rogers, Ark. He was born on Nov. 14, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Milford Hixon and Myrle Elizabeth (Schell) Olds. He was the loving husband of 66 years of the late June (Mills) Olds. Charles graduated from Culver Military Academy in Culver, Ind., and went on to serve in the 1st Army, 1st Div. 16th Regiment, Company C during WWII. While serving, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He achieved the rank of captain before being honorably discharged from service. Charles went on to earn a law degree from Northwestern University. Charles was a partner in a law firm for several years in Calumet, Mich., and was an attorney at Pabst Brewery in Milwaukee for over 30 years. Throughout his life he was an enthusiast for knowledge and remembered everything he learned. He traveled around the world with his wife and enjoyed golf for more than 60 years. He is survived by his son, Charles M. Olds of Texas; daughter, Charlotte A. Steindorf of Texas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; first cousins, Dan Olds of Spartanburg, S.C., and John Olds of Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Jean Lanahan. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, from 10:30-11 a.m., with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. in Rollins Funeral Home chapel.
