Wanda Lee Ross, 83, of Huntsville, Ark., died Sept. 1, 2013, at her home. She was born June 3, 1930, at Japton, Ark., the daughter of Elijah Osco "Bud" and Nettie Opal Rhodes Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Drakes Creek Regular Baptist Church. She was someone special to so many people. She was a preacher's wife and with him served her Lord and church community. She loved and cherished all God's creations. There was never a stray, domesticated or wild, that was turned away from her home. Every plant we ever killed was taken to her, brought back to life and tripled in size. She worked many jobs outside the home to help support her family, but her most treasured job was her family, immediate and extended. She had an amazing sense of humor, and was a fierce competitor at any game played around the family table. She was a little mischievous at times and loved a good prank, and she passed all of these things along to her children and grandchildren, and still this doesn't begin to describe the magic that was Wanda Lee Ross, known to most as simply "Sis." She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Homer Howard Ross; her mother and father, Nettie and Bud Davis; two sisters, Inez Eubanks and Carol Swagger and one brother, Bill Davis. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Brt of Huntsville, Ark.; one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Delane Ross of Huntsville, Ark.; three granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Jamie and Bill Jackson of Jenks, Okla., Kristy and Bubba Butler of Elkins, Ark., and Amy and Keith Kynzewski of Bentonville, Ark.; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jeremy and Gina Duncan of Conroe, Texas; eight great-granddaughters, Joe and Danny Jackson of Jenks, Okla., Shelbi and Abby Duncan of Conroe, Texas, Sammie and Makayla Butler of Elkins, Ark., and KC and Rylee Kenyzewski of Bentonville, Ark.; three great-grandsons, Ethan Knyzewski of Bentonville, Ark., and Asher and Gunner Butler of Elkins, Ark.; one sister, Fern Duncan of Drakes Creek, Ark.; two brothers- and sisters-in-law, Homer Jean and Henryetta Davis of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Farrell and Diane Davis of Drakes Creek, Ark.; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Drakes Creek Regular Baptist Church with Elder Jim Duncan officiating. Interment will be in the Drakes Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Duncan, Darrell Ross, Bubba Butler, Keith Kynzewski, Billy Jackson, Farrell Davis, Jimmy Eubanks and Stan Yelvington. Honorary pallbearers will be: Eddie Samuels, Eddie Davis, Jerry Eubanks, Dave Fowler, Shawn Davis, David Duncan, Mike Davis, Billy Davis and Kent Boyd. The crater left in our hearts by her unbearable absence here on earth, is a joy to our Lord and Savior in Heaven.
