Dorothy June Sample

Dorothy June Sample, 87, of Springdale passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at her home. She was born June 8, 1926, in Joplin, Mo., to William Robert and Gracie Nell Stephenson Hastings. Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale. She was a member of the Springdale Kiwanis Club and the Order of the Eastern Star of Siloam Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Max Sample; her son, Jerry Sample; and her brother, William Robert Hastings Jr. Survivors include one son, Michael Sample of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Pam Sample of Springdale; one sister, Betty Nell Tatman and husband, Mike, of Branson, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kristy Condra, Preston Condra and wife, Kelly Leas, Melissa Foxx, Mike Sample and Megan Sample; and five great-grandchildren, Ethan Foxx, Sloane Foxx, Devyn Foxx, Peyton Roark and Parker Sample. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Springdale, with the Rev. Judy Van Hoose and Preston Condra officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery. A visitation for Dorothy will be on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
