Grover L. "Buddy" Dyer, 72, passed away Oct. 25 at Legacy Village Circle of Life following a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born to Leon and Rebecca Dyer Feb. 14, 1941 — yes he was truly a valentine. Having been born in Memphis, Tenn., he had wonderful memories of the fun he had being raised there, going to high school and college there also. He married his childhood sweetheart, Molly Malone Aug. 31, 1962, and had 51 years of a wonderful marriage. Buddy moved his family to Rogers, Ark., in 1978 and founded Dyer Electric Inc. He made many friends in the business and retired in 2007. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, not really minding that he didn't always catch anything. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and truly enjoyed serving The Lord by teaching Sunday School, working in the Food Pantry, River of Life Medical Clinic, and being a greeter at the doors of his church home, First Baptist Church, Rogers, Arkansas. He was predeceased by parents and his sister, Shirley Dyer Steele. He survived by his wife Molly; daughter, Stacy Polley; her husband, Joey Polley of Rogers, and granddaughter Stephanie Brown, her husband Andrew Brown of Fayetteville, and grandson Jason Polley also of Fayetteville, daughter Patty Cole, her husband Kevin Cole of Jonesboro, grandsons Parker Cole, Dalton Cole, and granddaughter Carlee Cole, all of Jonesboro. "Pop" was very grateful for his wonderful family. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church of Rogers. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Rogers with Pastor Tommy Hinson and Pastor Wes George officiating. Interment will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers. Memorials may be sent to: First Baptist Church, In Memory of Buddy Dyer, or Circle of Life Hospice House at Legacy Village. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.
