Mary J. Hughes

Mary J. Hughes, 88, of Rogers died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, following a short illness. Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Breakfast Kiwanis Club and the Cat Fanciers Association. She was born June 20, 1925, in Chicago, and was very active in raising and showing Bombay cats, producing several national champions. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Christena Hughes; and two brothers, Robert Hughes and Edward Hughes. Survivors include a twin brother, Willard Hughes of Cathedral City, Calif.; and a niece, Becky Distler of Bardstown, Ky. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 10 am. at the church. Internment will be made at a later date in Owensboro, Ky. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the FUMC Memorial Fund.
