Annabelle Plumlee, 89, of Rogers, Ark., died, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at her residence. She was born March 19, 1924, in Dug Hill, Ark., to Sam Jackson and Myrtle Holland Jackson. Having lived all her life in Benton County, she was very involved in the community. After the war, she met and fell in love with Kenneth Plumlee and they were married on April 26, 1946. They settled in Gravette where they raised their two children. She was active in all aspects of their education and lives. She faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Gravette and taught Sunday school for many years. Annabelle was a wonderful wife and mother, keeping a beautiful home and serving three delicious meals each day, always teaching her family to find the joy in life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Myrtle Jackson; and one sister, Allene Lauber. Annabelle is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth Plumlee; one son, Robert Plumlee and wife, Elsa, of Tulsa; one daughter, Betty Downie and husband, Hayden, of Tulsa; one brother, Olin Jackson and wife, Thelma, of Bentonville, Ark.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with Chip Brown officiating, with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to Circle of Life, 900 NE Verdant, Bentonville, AR 72712.
