Colbert (Bare) Barentine, 70, of Texarkana, Ark. passed away Oct. 10, 2013 at his home. Mr. Barentine was born Dec. 13, 1942 in Hope, Ark. He graduated from Henderson State Teachers College; was a veteran of the Air National Guard; was a member of D & C Hunting Club; AR Real Estate Commission; AR Knife Makers Association; a member of First Baptist Church of Nashville, Ark.; regularly attended Sugar Hill United Methodist Church; and was an OFWC member. Survivors include his wife, Edith "Edie" Barentine of Texarkana, Ark.; daughter and spouse, Amy and Davin Rainey of Conway, Ark.; son and spouse, Jason and Michele Barentine of Texarkana, Ark.; stepchildren and their spouses; Stephanie and Jimmy Rainey of Texarkana, Texas, Alyson Crouch of Texarkana, Ark., and Christy and Eric Babcock of Benton, Ark.; grandchildren, Holly Zacharias and husband, Michael of Texarkana, Texas, Logan Rainey of Texarkana, Texas, Ashton and Austin Rainey of Conway, Ark. and Cole, Ella and Max Babcock of Benton, Ark.; and great-grandchildren, Xander and Zoe Zacharias of Texarkana, Texas. Memorial service will be 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at Sugar Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Burks officiating. Services are under the direction of East Funeral Home – Downtown.
