Leslie Dale "Les" Wallace, 93, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in Springdale, Ark. He was born July 26, 1920, in Wichita, Kan., to Leslie Charles Wallace and Nettie Geraldine Koontz Wallace. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WW11, as a radar service technician; was an engineer for Lockheed-Martin and conducted research for special space payloads for over 27 years. He had his private pilot's license for over 50 years and enjoyed all aspects of aviation. In his later years he enjoyed flying radio controlled gliders. Les was a faithful member of Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas, where he and wife, Loretta, served and made many dear friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and lived an exemplary Godly life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Loretta Wallace. He is survived by one son, Marlin Wallace and wife, Lisa, of Springdale; one daughter, Sharon Ferrier and husband, Jim, of Chehalis, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel, 2898 W. Walnut, in Rogers with Pastor John Marquette officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 until service time. Memorials may be made in his name to The Samaritan House, 812 N. Thompson St., Springdale, AR 72764. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Prayer Garden Columbarium at Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
