Susan Jo Marley Curtis

Susan Jo Marley Curtis, age 61, of Rogers passed away Sept. 30, 2013. Susan was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to parents Joe Ben Marley and Hilda Siemsen Marley. She grew up in the Elkins area and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. Susan was united in marriage to Mark Curtis in Memphis, Tenn., in November of 1978. Susan worked for many years as an FBI special agent, serving in Memphis, Chicago, Guam, Canberra, Australia and the Washington, D.C., headquarters. She was a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, former president of the Prairie Creek Property Owners Association and on the board of the Beaver Lake Fire Department. She enjoyed reading and was a three-time Senior Women's U.S. Curling Champion, for which she traveled across the world representing her country. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Ben. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mark of Rogers; mother, Hilda of Elkins; brother, Jeff Marley and wife, Marsha, of Elkins; sister, Sara Marley of Tonganoxie, Kan.; her very special cousin, Sharon Smith of Rogers; and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Rogers Humane Society or towards Ovarian Cancer Research or the Rogers Public Library. Memorial services are set for Friday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Crystal Hills Fellowship Church, 10602 Highway 16 East, Elkins. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.
