Marietta Townsend Stanton

Marietta Townsend Stanton, age 79, of Bentonville passed away Oct. 2, 2013. Mary was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Larue, Ark., to parents Walter Townsend and Letha Roller Townsend. She worked in the nursing home business for several years, and enjoyed fishing and puzzles. Her cat, Sassy, had been her faithful companion over the last few years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. She is survived by one brother, Dickie Lee Townsend of Rogers; five children, Wanda Dawn Elzey and husband, Wayne, of Fulton, Mo., William Lewis and wife, Ada, of Centerton, Pat Crone and husband, John, of Bentonville, Gary Lewis of Springdale, and Jo Myers and companion, Bill Fargo, of Jane, Mo.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Richardson Center in Springdale in memory of Marietta Stanton. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.
