Richard E. Brown

Richard E. Brown, 85, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born May 6, 1928, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Joseph E. Brown and Mary Eleanor (Reigel) Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from the U.S. Forest Service, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and attended Peaceful Valley Bible Church in Springdale. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Floyd Ellsworth Brown, and wife Ella Joy Chesteen Brown. He is survived by one son, Richard E. Brown Jr. and wife, Dottie of Fayetteville; one daughter, Barbara DeBuys and husband, Pete, of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Sarah Elisabeth Ross (Chris) and Richard Andrew Brown (Carrie); and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 with Pastor Bill Pettigrew officiating. A graveside committal service with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Okla. Father Patrick Bright of All Souls Episcopal Church will officiate.
