Bruce K. Fullmer

Bruce K. Fullmer passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice in Newton, Iowa, after a short illness. Per his request, he will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Bruce was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Newton, Iowa, to Wayne and Ruby Fullmer. He graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1959 and Drake University. Following a tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force as a commissioned officer at Beale Air Force Base, Calif., Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, Bruce went to work at Con Agra Foods as a sales representative. His highly successful sales career included other companies such as Tyson Food, North Star Foods and Quantum Food. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and business associates, many of whom called him "Ace." Bruce was loved by all for his kind and generous demeanor and his bigger than life personality. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Nenita of Newton; his daughters, Kristin Fullmer of Gainesville, Ga., Laura Duncan of Homer, Alaska, Alicia Whitaker of Warne, N.C.; two stepchildren, Arturo Thomas of Illinois and Trista Bailey of Australia; and 10 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
