Maurice D. 'Maury' Pederson

Maurice D. "Maury" Pederson, 82, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 18, 1931, in Ivanhoe, Minn., to George and Iva (Hansen) Pederson. Maury graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1949 and he was active in all sports. In 1953, he graduated from Hamline University majoring in English. In September of that year, he married Doris Zimmerman in Monticello, Iowa. During his life, Maury enjoyed refinishing furniture, golfing, gardening, working crossword puzzles, fishing and cooking on the grill. He also enjoyed coaching, watching and participating in sports. He will be remembered for his sharp wit and sense of humor. Maury is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris; son, Warren Pederson and his wife, Cindi; daughter, Kris Pederson and her spouse, Madeline Gutwein; two granddaughters and their husbands and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at the Highlands Church, 371 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista, Ark.
