Kenneth Lee Matlock

Kenneth Lee Matlock, 79, of Rogers passed away Nov. 23, 2013, in his home. He was born July 2, 1934, in Rogers, the son of William and Nancy Lou Graham Matlock. Kenneth served in the United States Navy and was a Sr. Chief Petty Officer. He served from June 1953 to April 1987. He was also a USDA Food inspector for Cargill in Springdale. Kenneth was a member of the Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking and selling his crafts at the Rogers Farmers Market. He is preceded in death by his parents, half brother Henry Matlock and half sister Fannie Matlock. He is survived by his wife Martha Wilkerson Matlock of the home; children, Richard Holderby of Dallas, Mary Wagoner of Eldorado Hills, Calif., Linda Matlock Michaels of Rogers, Dean Matlock of Springdale, Janet Matlock Wright of Alexander, Ark., and Kenetta Matlock Collins of Rogers; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers, with Nathan Wilkerson officiating. Interment will military honors will follow in the Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
