Kendal Hooker Carpenter

Kendal Hooker Carpenter of Springdale, Ark., died Nov. 19, 2013, at the age of 61. He was born in Fayetteville, Ark., to James and Ernestine "Teena" Hooker Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his mother. Ken attended Springdale Public Schools through junior high. He graduated high school from Wentworth Military Academy and College near Lexington, Mo. He earned a bachelor degree in administrative management and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Ken was a member of First United Methodist Church of Springdale. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ken owned and operated Executone of NWA on Hwy. 71 in Springdale after his parents retired from Executone, and Jim's Radio, TV & Communications, which was first opened for business in 1948. Ken is survived by his father, Jim Carpenter of Fayetteville; his son, Bradley; his brother, David J. Carpenter and wife, Vonita; niece, Shannon Carpenter; uncle, Bill Walker of Springdale; cousins, Jeanne Walker of Louisville, Ky., Kim Adams of Branson, Mo., Stuart Hooker and wife, Marcy, of Joplin, Mo., Jan Walker of Springdale, and Brent Hooker and wife, Elizabeth, of Chile. A memorial service will be held at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale at 11 a.m on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, with the Reverends Judy Van Hoose and David Freeman officiating. Funeral arrangements are with Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Interment will be at Bayless Cemetery of Garfield, Ark. Online condolences may be made at www.siscofuneral.com.
