James Henry Fuller

James Henry Fuller, 75, lifelong resident of Siloam Springs, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Ark. Mr. Fuller was born on Dec. 20, 1937, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Henry James and Dorothy Mae Fuller. He graduated Siloam Springs High School in 1957 and married Shirley Jenkins on July 9, 1960, in Vernon, Ala. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, as well as the Arkansas National Guard. James retired from Allen Canning Company after 26 years, where he served as director of dry bean purchasing. Mr. Fuller served on the Siloam Springs board of directors from Feb. 16, 1988, to present. During that time he also held the position of vice mayor for three terms 1999-2000, 2001-2002 and 2005-2006. James was also a member of the Siloam Springs American Legion, and First Assembly of God Church in Siloam Springs, where he served as a deacon and usher for many years. Mr. Fuller is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; his son, Mark Brian Fuller and wife, Ginny, of Siloam Springs; daughter, Teresa Fuller-Oswald and husband, Shawn, of Wichita, Kan.; as well as five grandchildren, Amanda Niccum and husband, Sam, Jonathon James Fuller and wife, Megan, Matti Fuller, and Spencer and Cole Oswald. Mr. Fuller also had two great-grandchildren, Hudson James and Hanna Ray Fuller; sister, Lucy and husband, Delbert DeMoss, of Siloam Springs. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loved ones. Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dorothy Fuller; and infant daughter, Judy Renae. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Gary Wheat officiating; burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.
