Virgil Dean Isaacs

Virgil Dean Isaacs, 84, of Lowell, Ark., passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013. He was born Oct. 15, 1929, to Stanley and Stella Isaacs in Butler County, Ohio. He was married to Janice Marie Clifton on Sept. 15, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Marvin Isaacs and his sister, Faye Smith. He is survived by his wife, Janice; their children and spouses: Phillip and Felica Isaacs of London, Ohio, Kenneth and Becky Isaacs of Dickson, Tenn., David and Karen (Susie) Johnson of Mount Sterling, Ohio, Daniel and Lori Isaacs of West Jefferson, Ohio, Tom and Lora Palmer of Springfield, Ohio, Jerry and Jeanette Ray of Springdale, Ark., Stanley and Mindy Isaacs of London, Ohio, Gay Lynn Main of Springdale, Ark., and Kevin Isaacs of Lowell, Ark., brothers, Merle Isaacs of Tennessee and Vernon Isaacs of Ohio; sisters, Naomi Long of Indiana, Geraldine Martin of Michigan and Nola Henry of Florida; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A simple man with strong family values, Virgil could always be found in his red and black checkered hat on the front porch overlooking the lake. He was a great entertainer with stories of his rambunctious youth, family, farm life and camping trips as well as songs from his colorful past. Visitation will be at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale on Monday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Virgil's funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hickory Creek Cemetery.
