Ruby Smith Marbut

Ruby Smith Marbut was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Purdy, Mo., to Thurman Oliver and Lula Anne Smith. Ruby was married to Raymond Jackson Marbut, who preceded her April 12, 2003. Ruby was also preceded by one son, Jackie Scott Marbut who died shortly after birth. Also preceding Ruby were her two brothers, J.D. Smith, Donald Smith; her three sisters, Beatrix Smith, Fontella Bennett and Faye Edwards. Ruby was a resident of Springdale, Ark. She was called to Heaven on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at 3:15 p.m. Ruby is survived by her loving family: son, Michael Marbut and wife, Pamela; daughter, Lisa Waguespack and husband, Steven; and grandchildren, Cody Marbut and mother Carla Marbut, Stevie Waguespack and Renae Waguespack, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ruby's love for floral work, making jewelry, and traveling was only exceeded by her love for family and friends. Ruby was known as "Nanny" to her family. Nanny, we love you and we will miss you until we join you in Heaven. Visitation will be held at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. The Funeral will be held at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. A short graveside service will be held at Sparks Cemetery in Butterfield, Mo., at 2:30 p.m. Online condolences can be made to www.siscofuneral.com.
