George Robert 'Red' Sanders

George Robert "Red" Sanders, age 75, of Elkins died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born March 7, 1938, in La Habra, Calif., the son of Kenneth and Mabel Clark Sanders. After graduating from Springdale High School, he moved back to California and was in the wholesale produce business for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. He was a member of Richland Baptist Church in Elkins and Coast Hills Baptist Church in Santa Maria, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Gores-Sanders. He is survived by two daughters, Karen Gracia and her husband, Joe, of Santa Maria, Calif., and Arleen Lawson and her husband, Paul, of Belleview, Fla.; a son, Kevin Sanders and his wife, Jennifer, of Carlsbad, Calif.; six grandchildren, Dustin and Dalton Lawson of Belleview, Fla., Nicole and Kylie Gracia of Santa Maria, Calif., and Mackenzie and Austin Sanders of Carlsbad, Calif.; and a brother, Kenneth Dean Sanders of Encinitas, Calif. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Richland Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Richland Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
