Henry L. 'Roy' Cox

Henry L. "Roy" Cox, 80, died Nov. 3, 2013, in Rogers. He was born on July 10, 1933, in Scottville, Ill., to the late Kenneth Lee and Ellen Lucille (Neighbours) Cox. He was the loving husband of Jan (Odom) Cox. Roy joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and was a jet mechanic (during the Korean War). After serving in the Air Force, he joined the Dallas Police Department, and was on duty when President Kennedy was assassinated. He was a member of the Tontitown Knights of Columbus hall number 4538. He enjoyed spending time with his family and included them in everything, especially dinners and traveling. His greatest joy was his involvement with his sons in The Boy Scouts of America and was with them for 25 years as leader and district official. Roy is survived by wife, Jan of Lowell; three sons, Dan Cox (wife, Angela) and Cody Cox, both of Lowell, and Sam Moses of North Carolina; three daughters, Becky Moore (husband, Frank) of Texas, Robin Morlock (husband, Mike) of Texas, and Sharon Lokar (husband, Mark) of Michigan; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two nephews and three nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; two siblings and a niece. A visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's in Tontitown, with a military burial service at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 2 p.m. In memory of Roy, please contact the Community Blood Bank of the Ozarks, www.cbco.org, or your local bloodbank to find out how you can donate.
