Wilbur Lee Holland

Wilbur Lee Holland, 91, of Gentry, Ark., died May 21, 2013, at his home. Born Nov. 22, 1921, in Highfill, Ark., he was the son of Robert A. Holland and Vira Hammon Tree Holland. Wilbur lived his entire life in the same home he was born and died in. He was a lifetime resident of Highfill, where he was a dairy farmer and raised roses. Wilbur married Esther Mary Knowles on Feb. 28, 1954. He was a member of the Rogers Garden Club and the Methodist Church in Highfill. He was preceded in death by his wife on Aug. 4, 2009; one son, Bob Holland; one stepson, Johnny Nichols; and two sisters, Bonnie Jean Keeling and Roberta Horton. Survivors include two sons, Joe Holland and Gary Holland, both of Highfill; one daughter, Patty Webb of Decatur, Ark.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Eugene Keeling of Rogers. Pallbearers will be Chris Holland, Rob Holland, Jody Holland, Jed Holland, Gene Holland, Gary Holland and Jeff Parks. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Watson and Nelson Watson. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Methodist Church, Highfill, Ark., with the Rev. Russ Hall and Pastor Bruce Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Springtown Cemetery, Springtown, Ark. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark.
