James Ronald Knittel

James Ronald Knittel, age 77, of Athens, Ala., passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Knittel was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Johnson, Tenn., to George Fred Knittel and Lela Leola Daugherty Knittel. Mr. Knittel was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church and enjoyed playing golf. Survived by his wife, Barbara Knittel of Athens; two daughters, Rhonda Lambert of Madison, Ala., and Donna Hornak of Hatboro, Pa.; son, Mike Knittel of Bristol, Va.; sister, Jo Ann Dent of Nesbitt, Miss. Services will be Thursday, May 23, 2013, 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Dusty McLemore and Joseph Scott officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
