Gayle E. "Bob" Dittmer

Gayle E. "Bob" Dittmer, 90, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Concordia Health & Rehab, Bella Vista, Ark. He was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Shelby, Iowa, the son of John Dittmer and Ferne Brown Dittmer. "Bob" married Juanita Howe on Sept. 22, 1940, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II where he was stationed in Hawaii. He farmed in Iowa until retiring and moving to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1984. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Lawrence. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Dittmer, of Bella Vista, Ark.; son, Ted Leon Dittmer, and his wife, Priscilla, of Clearwater, Colo.; daughters, Ann Lynn Wymore and her husband, Richard, of St. Louis, Mo.; Teri Rose Wernsman and her husband, Neal, of Fleming, Colo., and Tammy Jo Jess and her husband, Joel, of Peoria, Ill.; brother, Willard Dittmer, of Shelby, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Ark., with Pastor Jamie Alexander officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Circle of Life Hospice, or the First United Methodist Church.
